NASDAQ Level II Viewer
Often cited as a "must-have" tool for intraday trading, the NASDAQ Level II Viewer illustrates the tug-of-war between the bulls and the bears, with a streaming view of the best bid and offer from each market maker with a public order.
A window into the liquidity of stocks traded on the NASDAQ exchange, Level II data provides market insight into pending orders behind the Level I quote, which is shown at the top of the viewer. (The real-time Level I quote comprises the last price, change, volume, bid, ask, size, plus the session's open, high, and low prices.)
Color-coded price tiers and dynamic volume bars help you understand the market visually. The Bid and Ask order prices are listed from best (at the top of the list) to worst (bottom), with the orders closest to the market shaded in yellow.
Above market maker orders are dynamic price bars providing a visual summary of the order volume at each price level, again grouped by color.
