These products include SuperCharts, Wall Street Analyst, and TradeStation. Since these programs use the Omega Downloader, you have to make a simple change in the Downloader to "point" your system to use our data server.
Setting up Omega Downloader to use the Prophet service is simple. Do the following (you may want to print this page for reference):
- Using a web browser, go to this URL:
http://www.Prophet.Net/download/PDHelper.exe
- When the dialog box appears, choose "Run this program from its current location" and click the OK button.
- Click the OK button to run the program.
- Click the Yes button to proceed, and follow the instructions presented to you on the screen. If for some reason you cannot or do not want to use the PDHelper.exe program, click here and follow the instructions to make these changes manually. You do not have to do steps 1 through 4 if you make these changes manually.
- Start the Omega downloader.
- Select options from the Tools menu.
Under Data Vendor, Select Dial/Data to establish the appropriate connection to get the data. Prophet Direct uses the same protocol as Dial/Data. By creating a special HOSTS file you will be pointing downloader to Prophet's data servers. You will not be downloading Dial/Data data. Prophet and Prophet products and services are not related to or authorized by Track Data or the Dial Data Service.
Under Phone Network 1, Internet should be selected.
- Enter your user name in the User Name field and your password in the Password field (you create these when you sign up for the service; remember, your user name must begin with the letters OR, SC or Z)
- Click the OK button.
