ProphetDirect offers the convenience of using the downloading software built into your analysis software, while saving you 30% or more on your monthly data updates. If you have any Omega product (SuperCharts, Wall Street Analyst, Tradestation), MetaStock, or the Window on WallStreet system that offers internet downloading, then you can use the ProphetDirect service.
The advantages are many: cleaner data, earlier updates, and significant cost savings month after month.
Two things: (1) an Internet connection, and (2) a charting program that uses the Dial/Data downloading protocol, such as MetaStock, Window on Wall Street, or any of Omega's product offerings (TradeStation, for example). If you have these two things, you are ready to use ProphetDirect.

ProphetDirect offers the convenience of downloading directly through your analysis software. By simply pointing the built-in downloader of your software to Prophet's service, you can receive cleaner data that's more affordable, too.
ProphetLink provides more sophisticated data management tools and works in tandem with any analysis program. When you're ready to download data, you launch ProphetLink as a separate Windows program. It automatically handles splits and error corrections, and you can choose between bulk downloading and hand-picked symbols.
Because ProphetDirect emulates the protocol built in to your software, we have adopted the existing symbols - many of which are unconventional. The benefit of adhering to this symbology is the convenience of using the downloader built into the analysis software and the historical data that accompanies many of these charting systems. Absolutely! The Basic data packages include a year of historical data. The Historical packages provide access to all the data available - as far back as 1959 for futures and 1968 for stocks.
We post our updates promptly each trading day. Stocks are usually available about 5:00 EST (an hour after the markets close), whereas mutual funds and futures are usually ready about 6:30 EST.
