Use this page to track and compare the performance of different industries and market sectors. Use the duration menu to explore different timeframes - from 2 days to 5 years.

You may find it useful to examine both Rank and Rank Change. The Rank is based on the percent change ("% Chg") over the selected duration. Rank Change shows the change in performance from the industry's rank at the beginning of the selected duration ("Prev") to the present. A high Rank Change may indicate good upward momentum, even if the sector itself does not carry a high Rank. Conversely, an industry with a high Rank and a poor Rank Change might be on its way down.

Click on any column head to sort. For example, clicking on "Prev" will sort by the industry rankings at the beginning of the selected period (e.g., six months ago, if a 6 month duration is selected).

Clicking on the industry code (e.g., $130 for Iron and Steel) will take you to Chart Surfer. Chart Surfer shows the individual companies that comprise each sector. By examining the charts for profitable patterns, you can find best opportunities within each industry.
